Common Issues with Workday and Troubleshooting Tips

The Account will not Link:

  • Troubleshooting Tip 1: The Web Services Domain is incorrect.

    • Solution: To find the correct Web Services Domain, please follow these steps:

      • Search in Workday for Public Web Services.

      • Open Public Web Services Report.

      • Hover over Human resources and click the three dots to access the menu.

      • Click Web Services > View WSDL.

      • Navigate to the bottom of the page that opens and you'll find the host.

      • Copy everything until you see /service. This should look something like https://wd5-services1.myworkday.com/ccx.

    • Pleasure ensure that if you are linking a production environment, there is no "-impl-" in the URL.

  • Troubleshooting Tip 2: The Service User is not associated with the correct environment.

    • Solution: Ensure that the Service User you wish to link is associated with the Web Services domain you inputted into Merge Link.

  • Troubleshooting Tip 3: The Service User does not have the correct permissions.

    • Solution: Ensure that the Service User has access to Worker Data: Public Worker Reports, amongst all other necessary permissions shown in our guide. Please note: Workday is a highly technical product that has intricate security policies and domains. It is important to select the correct GET only permissions to ensure the correct flow of data.

There is null data:

  • Troubleshooting Tip 1: The permissions are incorrect.

    • Solution: Please follow our ISU setup guide on how to create an ISU and Security Group, and find the correct Web Services Domain. For more information on permissions, please read this article.

Pay information is missing:

  • Ensure the following domains and subdomains are enabled
