Workday - POST Employee Deductions

Overview

To enable Workday POST employee deduction passthrough requests you must:

  • Configure the correct domain security policy permissions, activate the security policy changes, and ensure the DSP status is active

  • Create a new deduction code

  • Create a calculation

  • Create a payroll input batch

Step 1: Create a Deduction Code

  1. Search Create Deduction

  1. Select a Name, Code, and Effective Date

Step 2: Create a Calculation

Workday requires every deduction to have an associated calculation.

  1. Select Create

  1. Select Create Constant Value Calculation

  1. Select a Name, Category, and Numeric Value

  1. Check Input Amount Allowed?

Step 3: Create a new Payroll input batch

A Payroll Input Batch is a shared label you attach to a group of submitted payroll inputs so Workday can track, report on, and clean them up together.

  1. Search Payroll Input by Batch ID

  2. Click "Create Batch ID"

  3. Enter a Batch_ID and Usage category
